Global warming is the long-term heating of Earth’s surface observed since the pre-industrial period (between 1850 and 1900) due to human activities, primarily fossil fuel burning, which increases heat-trapping greenhouse gas levels in Earth’s atmosphere.

Effects of global warmıng on lıvıng thıngs

The negative effects of global warming on living species are quite high. Animals are more affected by global warming, and both their lifestyles and species diversity are significantly affected. The decrease in species richness, which is an important element of biodiversity, is one of the most important environmental problems of our age.

WWF announced that the world's largest penguin species will be in danger of becoming a road if the melting of glaciers in many parts of Antarctica cannot be prevented.

It has been reported that if more is not done to combat climate change, polar bears may become extinct by 2100. The study, whose results were published in the journal Nature Climate Change, drew a timeline of the possibility that climate change-related loss of sea ice will lead to declining numbers of polar bears, possibly leading to their massive extinction. The study concluded that in a scenario of high greenhouse gas emissions, all but a few populations could become extinct by 2100. It was stated that even if reasonable targets are achieved in reducing emissions, many polar bear communities will disappear.
